Kvinder i Dialog
- velkommen til en verden med dialog
Kvinder I Dialog (which literally means: 'Women In Dialogue') is a group consisting of women with and without niqab (the Islamic face veil) who’s aim is to engage in dialogue with the general public.
The Danish parliament has proposed a law that forbids the wearing of the niqab and burqa in public spaces, with the purpose of forcing the Muslim woman to give up her religious clothing.
This page has been created with the purpose of including niqab wearing women, which the ban will affect. We are regularly being talked about, but we are never being talked with, therefore we wish to engage in the public debate scene and challenge the different prejudices a lot of people have towards us.
We believe that the path to understanding and mutual respect can best be achieved by speaking with each other.
We insist on communication regardless of disagreements!
Anyone who wants to engage in this dialogue is more then welcome. We hope that you will follow, like and share our posts and videos.

OPEN HOUSE IN COPENHAGEN
We thank all of our guests for participating at our open house event! Fantastic day with a pleasant atmosphere with a lot of dialogue!
We are looking forward for the next event!
Fear is bred by ignorance.
The best way to get rid of the fear is by seeking knowledge. One hears so much about muslims but is it not about time to speak to muslims?
PRESENTATION FOR STUDENTS FROM EFTERSLÆGTEN (A DANISH HIGH SCHOOL)
Today, we have held a presentation for about 50 students of social and religious studies from Efterslægten.
It was very touching and heartwarming meeting with polite and corius students. Thanks to the teachers for initiating the contact and the event!
One of the teachers thanked us for the event and said that she overheard a student saying:
"This was the best and most exciting religious studies class we have ever had"
This pleases us!

DEMONSTRATION AGAINST THE FIRST FINE
The 10th of august we protested the first fine given in the name of this unjust law!
It is acceptable that women are being attacked, having their clothes ripped of and recieving fines when the police shows up.
Therefore, we encouraged all of you to show up and display your solidarity - and you showed up!
Let it be visible for anybody who reads the writings of history that a group of individuals fought back and did what they could to show that they opposed this opressive law.
DEMONSTRATIONS IN KBH & AARHUS
A great moment in the danish history!
Cross ethnicities, beliefs, gender and age we were witness around 3000 individuals standing side-by-side as they fought against discriminiation and opression.
We thank all of the participant for the participation and overwhelming support - you are great!
This is only the start of a long fight agains the islamophobic laws of the government.
VISIT AT THE NATIONAL MUSEUM
We visited the national museum.
We met a lot of wonderful individuals and gave some of them flyers and engaged in interesting conversations.
Visiting the museums, going for a walk and experiencing cultural sites in Denmark are some of the things we are going to miss the most when the ban comes to effect.
Today was a wonderful day - except for the worries that await us in the future...
WORKSHOP WITH MUSLIMSK UNGDOM I DK
Great thanks to Muslimsk Ungdom I Danmark - København (a muslim youth organisation) for their hospitality and to the participants for their work effort.
It was a wonderful day with a lot creativity!
Our work does not stop here. This is merely the beginning. We will counter discriminating and islamophobic laws until justice prevails!

VISIT AT KROGERUP HØJSKOLE
The 23rd of February we payed Krogerup Højskole a visit to make a presentation about the masking ban and discrimination. The event was very enriching with a wonderful atmosphere. Partly because we got a chance to share our stories, but also because it was nice to meet so welcoming and openminded students and teachers. We shed some tears, laughed together and got a chance to get to know each other. We would like to thank everybody who participated in the event.
